A newcomer to the city of Columbus has been selected to lead Heritage Academy’s development program. Cheryl F. Maner has been hired to fill the position at the K4-12 college prep school.
Heritage Academy Headmaster Dr. Greg Carlyle said, “Cheryl’s previous success in grant writing and fundraising for organizations made her an ideal candidate for this position. She has planned and executed all aspects of fundraising and donor appreciation events and she has experience working with non-profit organizations. She will be a great addition to our administrative team and our school.”
Maner holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina and has completed graduate level courses in Education (Guidance and Counseling) through Clemson University, in Clemson South Carolina. Through her position with the Pickens County (South Carolina) Commission on Alcohol & Drug Abuse, she has applied for grants on behalf of Clemson University. She has written grants for The Friends of Fort Dobbs in North Carolina and she has experience reviewing grants for the U. S. Department of Education.
"Heritage Academy has a reputation in this area for academic excellence. I am excited about joining the staff and faculty at HA, and look forward to expanding the Heritage experience through funding from grants and the support of the community,” said Maner.
Maner and her husband, Robert, have a son, Parker, who is an 11th grade student at Heritage Academy. They attend First United Methodist Church in Columbus. Maner began her new duties at the school on December 3rd.
