As an independent school, Heritage strives to introduce students to community service.  Tracking these activities is also beneficial when applying for college admissions and scholarships.
Each student in grades 9-12 will average 25 hours of service per year in order to earn the 100 total hours.  Each semester there will be a report of hours earned attached to the report card.  The 100 service hours must be earned and properly documented by March 31 of the senior year in order to receive a diploma from Heritage.
Service hour activities must be pre-approved by the Service Learning Sponsor, Headmaster, or Guidance Counselor.  The types of hours to be earned are as follows:

33 hours - School related programs
  33 hours - Community programs
  34 hours - Student's choice
