What will the school do to clean and sanitize buildings upon student return?

Cleaning and disinfecting are part of a broad approach to preventing infectious diseases at HA. Other measures include staying home when sick, covering coughs and sneezes, and washing hands often.

How do you determine if school needs to be closed?

To make a deterimantion of school closure, we would await instructions from multiple government agencies and MAIS.

How will instruction be delivered during a closure?

The faculty and staff are working to prepare for high guality digital learning for all of our students. We are utilizing age appropriate learning management systems with the following grades

SeeSaw with JrK-2nd grade

Google Classroom with 3rd -6th Grade

Canvas with 7th - 12th Grade

In addition, Heritage will also communicate via email, Heritage Academy Patriots Facebook Page, Zoom Web Conferencing, and Power Announcements through PowerSchool.

Is the district prepared for long-term closure?

In the event of a long-term closure, efforts would be made for provision of distance-based learning for students (i.e., Internet instruction, Zoom web conferencing, and our learning management systems) to maintain continuity of education.
