Biology is designed to give the student an appreciation for the living world around them. Classroom curriculum and lab activities are combined with an emphasis placed on learning through inquiry. Students apply knowledge gained in class to design and solve lab-based problems. Curriculum covered in the course includes cell biology, photosynthesis, plant and animal genetics, chemistry of life, form and function of each group of animals and plants. In the second half of the year, students will examine and dissect organisms including microorganisms, fungi, invertebrates, chordates and plants.
