The Heritage Academy Elementary Library serves teachers and students in grades K-6. Students in K5 are provided the opportunity to check out books for the parents to read to them. They may exchange their books on a daily basis or keep them as long as a week. The K5 students also come to the library once a week for story time, which introduces them to quality children’s literature and promotes a love of literature. Students in grades 1-6 participate in the Accelerated Reader program. Our library provides an excellent selection of Accelerated Reader books in all genres of literature. The students will read books from all genres as they progress through the reading levels of the program. Additionally, the library provides books for classroom unit study and research. To promote the love of reading and introduce the students to good literature, we host a book fair, Grandparent’s Day book sale, and an author visit on a yearly basis.
