Heritage Academy will be selling the used MacBooks that have been assigned to our graduating seniors this year.  Mr. Gunn sent out an email to all parents on the Heritage Parents email list that announced the sale.  We want to give a little more information and answer some frequently asked questions here.

4. How do the senior laptops that are being sold compare to the ones the freshman class has now? — Senior MacBooks are identical to the MacBooks that current freshmen are using.
5. How many are for sale? — We are currently looking to sell 40 MacBooks, after the seniors get their pick it is first come first served.
6. Do you offer technical support for the MacBooks after they are sold? — We cannot offer technical support.  The AppleCare warranty expires in October 2010, until then warranty repairs should still be covered.
7. What software is installed on the MacBook? — iLife ’09, iWork ’09, Microsoft Office 2004, iChat, iTunes, PhotoBooth, and all standard Mac Apps that come with Snow Leopard. A list of all the installed software is available here.

Sarah was chosen as the First Place Winner in the Lowndes County Soil and Water Conservation District Essay Contest.  Hanna was chosen the third place winner.

In the B game the Lady Patriots outslugged the JA girls 11-3. The top hitters were Mary Grace Crenshaw, Olivia Kesler, Sallie Garner, and Anna Kilarski.

The Patriots jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first game by scoring one run in the first inning and two in the second. Cole Eller’s double drove in James Clark with the game’s first run. In the second, Clark Atkins singled and scored on Tyler Marchak’s one out triple. Marchak then scored on Parker Dunaway’s sacrifice fly to right field.

In the top of the third, the Mustang’s scored two unearned runs off of Patriot pitcher James Clark to close the score two 3-2. Heritage answered in the fourth with a single run as Tyler Marchak walked with two outs, moved to third on a single by Dunaway, and scored on a double steal.

After recording two outs in the sixth, Clark ran into trouble as a walk and two singles loaded the bases. Mustang shortstop Landon Taylor drew a walk to force in a run, and Andrew Ables single plated two more runs to take a 5-4 lead. The Patriots answered by tying the game in the bottom of the sixth as Atkins singled, moved to second on a single by Marchak, and later scored on a passed ball.

That set the stage for the heroics of Cole Eller. After a lead off double by Mustang third baseman James Davidson, Eller came in to pitch and struck out two hitters, stranding Davidson at third with the winning run. In the bottom of the seventh, Clark reached on a hit by pitch and Joey Kleis walked to put runners on first and second. The Patriots then pulled off a double steal to set the stage for Eller’s game winning sacrifice fly that scored Clark with the winning run. Atkins and Marchak led the Patriots with two hits and two runs scored, while Eller led the team with two RBI’s in the game.

In the second game, Taylor struck out eight and scattered three hits as he dealt the Patriots their first loss of the season. The Patriots will return to action on Tuesday March 23 as they host Washington School in the first game of their second divisional series of the season. The Junior Varsity contest starts at 4:00, followed by a single varsity game at 6:00.
